WIKI...
My wikispace is www.samplepoetry.wikispace.com
I find that the wikispace was easy to do, and I enjoyed it very much. There are so many things you can do with it, and as was mentioned, it can be used over a long period of time. I decided to make a wiki on poetry, which is a genre that I've always taught over a six week period. Using this tool, students can really post their favorites over the entire time we're learning about different types of poems.
I believe wiki can be used in many ways. I would do something similar to this wikispace, with students' names on the side, or as I did on my wikispace, with categories of what we're learning on the side. It really depends on what the task is. I teach two classes now and if I had internet use in the classroom, and permission from the administration, I would keep two separate wikispaces for the two classes, because I need organization, and this is an assessment tool and so I would like to be able to focus on each class independently, just as I wouldn't mix up the test papers from both classes.
Wikispaces are really interesting, and give a chance to each student to "speak" in the classroom and share one's best work, something one would like to show off.
